CALCULEAT — PRIVACY POLICY (iOS)

Effective Date: May 10, 2026
Last Updated: October 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the iOS version of CalculEat ("the App", "we", "us", "our") handles information when you use it on your iPhone or iPad.

CalculEat is built with privacy by default:

1. INFORMATION YOU ENTER (STORED ONLY ON YOUR DEVICE)

The following data is stored locally on your device. It is not transmitted to us and is not shared by us with third parties.

Under Apple's App Privacy definitions, data is considered "collected" when transmitted off-device. The local-only items above are not transmitted by us.

Storage details:

Delete local data any time:

Note:
Reset Data keeps only your language, unit system and theme. Everything else is removed, including the widget's data, and any scheduled reminders are cancelled.

2. HOME SCREEN AND LOCK SCREEN WIDGET

CalculEat offers an optional widget (iOS 17 and later). To show it, the App shares a small summary with the widget: calories consumed today, your daily goal, glasses of water today and your water target, plus the labels in your app language.

3. REMINDERS (LOCAL NOTIFICATIONS)

4. THINGS YOU CHOOSE TO SEND

5. INFORMATION COLLECTED BY GOOGLE ADMOB (THIRD PARTY)

CalculEat uses Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob) to display:

Ads are shown only inside the App, never in the widget or in reminders.

We do not receive, store, or read AdMob identifiers or advertising telemetry on our own servers. This advertising data is collected directly by Google.

Depending on ATT and consent choices, Google may process:

Connectivity check:

When a rewarded ad cannot be loaded, the App sends one empty request to Google's connectivity-check address (https://www.gstatic.com/generate_204) to find out whether your device is online. The request contains no data from the App. As with any internet request, Google can see your device's IP address.

Google policies:

App Store privacy label mapping:

Other than Google AdMob, the App does not include analytics, crash-reporting, attribution, or tracking SDKs.

6. APP UPDATES (EXPO)

When you open the App, it checks Expo's update service (u.expo.dev, operated by 650 Industries, Inc., "Expo") for fixes and improvements, and downloads them if available.

The update check sends only technical information:

It does not send your profile, food log, water intake or any other data you enter. As with any internet request, Expo can see your device's IP address.

Expo policy:

7. APP TRACKING TRANSPARENCY (ATT) - iOS 14.5+

On iOS 14.5 and later, ATT permission is requested before ad SDK initialization.

ATT prompt purpose text:

"This identifier will be used to deliver personalized ads to you."

If you Allow:

If you Ask App Not To Track:

Change ATT anytime:

8. EU/EEA, UK, SWITZERLAND - GDPR

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, GDPR/UK GDPR may apply.

In-app control:

Legal basis:

GDPR rights include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, consent withdrawal, and complaint rights.

For local app data:

9. CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS - CCPA/CPRA

California residents may have rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale/sharing, and non-discrimination.

We do not sell personal information for monetary value. However, personalized advertising may be considered "sharing" under CPRA in some contexts.
